Naming and welcoming ceremonies.
Perhaps you have had a baby, someone has joined your family or you’d like to celebrate a new ‘you’… we can create a ceremony which marks your big moment in whatever style suits you.
You might want to shout your news from the rooftops, or create an intimate, meaningful moment with those who support you through life’s toughest journeys.
Naming ceremonies
Akin to a Christening or Baptism, naming ceremonies are a formal way to celebrate a child’s arrival into the world and place in a family. Although they’re non-religious, we can still incorporate important religious, spiritual or traditional elements like naming ‘god-parents’. I tend to use the expression guide-parent, but you choose whatever expression feels most fitting for you! Having a naming ceremony can be a meaningful milestone for a child and a way of honouring and thanking the most important people in their lives.
Welcoming ceremonies
For older children and adults, a welcoming ceremony might feel more apt than a naming ceremony. Families might be joining together, or welcoming a new member into the fold.
Or, you might be celebrating your new identity and sharing your new name with those you care about. In which case, a re-naming ceremony might feel like the right expression for you! If we celebrate births, we can certainly celebrate re-births!
We’ll have a free, introductory call so you can tell me a bit about the celebration you’re planning. I want you to feel like you’re working with someone who ‘gets’ exactly what you want, so I’ll tell you a bit about me and ask you plenty of questions.
In a longer exploratory meeting, we’ll dive into exactly what you’d like the ceremony to be like. And if you don’t know, don’t worry! I can bring along both spicy ideas and old favourites. We’ll cover all the topics to ensure I can go away and write a ceremony which hits all the notes you want.
Speaking of notes… Music? Readings? Songs? A dance-party for kids (or adults?!). We can include whatever you like and dependent on your venue, we can be very flexible on time.

On the day I’ll bring your vision to life! Whether it’s a lively ceremony punctuated with tiny tots running around, or a rooftop adults-only soirée, it’ll be beautiful.
